Although the College Publisher system does not currently automate meta descriptions, the tags that control what Google uses for your website description in its search results, there are a few ways to control this manually in order to give readers the best impression of what your newspaper provides.

By adding this simple line of code into an HTML element in the header of your site you can totally personalize your site description:

  • <head><meta name="Description" content="DESCRIPTION CONTENT GOES RIGHT HERE...etc..."></head>

If you don't feel confident taking care of this on your own simply write up what you want to appear in Google search results and submit in a support ticket through Collegepublisher.com. From there we will take care of everything.

NOTICE: It does take time for Google search results to reflect your newly added description, but you can rest assured that once Google's crawler reindexes your site it will show your personalized description.
