Managing your traffic statistics through Google

Google Analytics is a free statistics monitoring application that provides in-depth information about your online audience.

Instructions if you do not have an Account:

The first step in setting up Analytics for your site is to visit their homepage at www.google.com/analytics/  and click on "Sign Up Now" to get started.

You wil be directly to an Account Setup screen where you enter the URL of your Web Site, create an account name, etc. Follow these steps, and hit "continue". On the next screen you will need to fill out your contact information, when complete press "continue". Accept the Terms of Service and press "create new account".

When you have done this you will be directed to a page with the Analytics Tracking Code. Copy the New Tracking Code (ga.js) from the text box. Log into your site's CP5 Administration area and navigate to Start Page > Header and Footer. In the Footer area create an HTML element and paste the Tracking code there and press "save". Your Tracking code is now active on your site, and Analytics should automatically recognize the code in the next 24 hours.

Instructions if you already have an Analytics Account:

Log in to your Analytics account. Next to your Web Site Profile click "edit". At the top of the Profile Settings page you should see "Tracking Unknown (Check Status)" - click on "Check Status". Copy the New Tracking Code (ga.js) from the text box. Log into your site's CP5 Administration area and navigate to Start Page > Header and Footer. In the Footer area create an HTML element and paste the Tracking code there and press "save". Your Tracking code is now active on your site, and Analytics should automatically recognize the code in the next 24 hours.
