Running Out of Inventory

Sometimes competing campaigns in the same ad unit can prevent ads showing up.  You have to be careful about how many impressions are committed to each campaign and over what time period to avoid this problem.

To check on this, you will need to request a custom report to get a snapshot of what is running in your inventory.  To do this, email support@collegepublisher.com with the subject heading “Request Inventory Report”.  In the email body identify yourself and your paper (with account number if possible).

The spreadsheet that will be emailed to you, will include:

  • a listing of all campaigns running
  • impressions served to date
  • average impressions per campaign per day
  • clicks per campaign
  • average clicks per day
  • how many impressions are left on each campaign

Now, to solve the original problem, identify what needs to be adjusted to free up impressions and go into the campaign and make the necessary edits:

Begin by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath the ‘Campaign’ heading.
From here enter your advertiser and campaign name. Click ‘Next’.
Now that you are able to make edits, do the following:

  1. Scroll midway down the page.
  2. On the left hand side of the page, look for the ‘Choose a View’ window.
  3. In that window pane, locate the ‘Goals’ option and click.
  4. In the field next to ‘Impressions’ and beneath ‘Goals’ you will see the number of impressions that have been applied to this campaign. If no number appears and your campaign is running on the CPM model, you can enter your allotted impression number now.
