Staying innovative in this growing digital age

Hello everyone. My name is Gerri Sax and I am the online editor for The Daily Reveille’s Web site, lsureveille.com. This summer I have the opportunity to intern with mtvU and College Media Network. I work with the College Publisher team three days a week learning the ins and outs of CP 5.0, outreaching to other universities about their own newspapers’ Web sites and discussing how we can improve them. In today’s growing digital age, it’s all about innovation. How can your Web site be the best possible? How does a staff completely composed of college students make something worth noting? At The Daily Reveille, we’ve grown a lot in the past year, and honestly, I feel in some way we are setting the pace among college newspapers with our ground-breaking... 1 comment

Editor's Note from Dave Studinski:   Now it’s your turn.   We wanted to create a collaborative blog that leaders in college newspapers across the country could contribute to.   Everyone has a story to tell and college media can benefit from hearing yours.   This blog is devoted to the challenges and successes developing in your newsroom each and every day. We think newspapers would want to hear about ways to troubleshoot common problems in workflow or how a weekly publication engages its reporters to publish online outside the weekly schedule or something we never thought was an issue.   Each semester we’ll handpick editors from our more than 600 partner schools/organizations to guest blog for us here.
