We have some exciting news for 2012:

College Publisher Pro – a new software upgrade that will add to the functionality of CP5 - will be launching for all of the publications in the network just after the New Year. We want to offer our partner schools the chance to demo this software before it goes live.

From a basic publishing experience, users of CPPro won't have to worry about changes affecting their workflow, but they will notice streamlined features and design, as well as new tools that will allow them to easier manage and contextualize their content.

These new tools include various options to structure content in new ways.

  • One click article creation - A new user interface improves editorial efficiency by removing steps in the publishing process.
  • A new search area with drag and drop options enhances search capabilities and will help publishers find and re-use content with more ease.
  • The preview feature has been upgraded with a new on-page editing interface that allows for customization of the placement of elements on the site while viewing the actual layout.
  • New topic pages and topic layout pages will allow editors to dynamically publish from custom tags.
  • Multiple new publishing queues allow you to manage custom built landing pages based on metadata, content and statistics.
  • A new element called "my news list" feature will allow readers to choose the type of content they are looking for and drop cookies on their browser to recognize the user each time they come back.

We know you work hard to make your web content as dynamic as possible, and we also know that many of you will be busy once the print product starts publishing – so we're offering the chance to see these software upgrades while on break so you can plan out how you want to use these new features and integrate them into your publishing routine.

If you want to try out these new upgrades before they go live, just shoot Mike Schoelch an email at mschoelch@accessnetwork.com.

And as always, we're here to help and answer any other questions you might have at support.collegepublisher.com.
