Effective October 25, 2010, editor passwords in CP5 must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Length must be at least 6 characters
- Must have at least one numeral(0-9)
- Must have at least one captial letter that's not the first character of the password
You'll be asked to abide by these guidelines whenever creating a new editor account.
Accounts created prior to this policy change AND with passwords not adhering to these guidelines will be forced to save new passwords when logging in.
Note: These rules only apply to accounts accessing the admin area. This policy is not in effect for site users who create accounts on your public site.
Automatic Account Lockout
CP5 will automatically disable accounts after a user executes five (5) failed log-in attempts. Users will receive a warning after the fourth failed attempt.
Once an account is locked, it is unable to access the CP5 system even if a correct password is used.
Suspended accounts can be enabled again using a separate, working editor account with access to edit users. YOUR SITE ADMIN CAN RESET YOUR PASSWORD.
If all of your site's accounts are suspended, please contact us.
