We will have training materials for our new service, AdGear, on collegepublisher.com in about a month. We will do outreach with all newspapers actively using Atlas to make sure there are no dropped balls for campaigns.

Rest assured, we shared the same frustrations as you with Atlas. Our top priority in choosing an alternative was that the new system had to be easier to use and much more user-friendly.

Will your services remain free of charge?
We will continue to offer the College Publisher CMS at no cost in exchange for national advertising under existing affilate agreements.

Publications will be offered the ability to license College Publisher or the other TANC products for annual fees and control all the advertising rights. It all comes down to what your local sales force feels they can accomplish.

Ari Horowitz and our CMN team are open to discussing all alternatives to the current business model as long as they make sense for both parties.

Will you create a mobile application for our site?
Access Networks' experience in the mobile space is one of the great advantages of our new ownership. Working with the company's existing product line, we'll soon be offering custom mobile applications on iPhone/Android. Not only can these applications feed from your site's editorial content, they'll also provide an unprecedented opportunity to make money for your publication.

This service is going to be connected with a new product called the City Guide Publisher. This product will enable newspapers to manage, curate and populate local listings … a long awaited solution to a very critical need.

We'll have more product details during CMA's Louisville Convention at the end of October. If you cannot attend, we will post to Collegepublisher.com soon after the convention.

What are some ways my site can generate more revenue through College Publisher?
City Guide Publisher will be an add-on service any newspaper can use that will enable the newspaper to sell local listings in various ways. The mobile app accompanying this service will have sponsorship/branding opportunities as well as coupon functions called "Perks."

We see "Perks" being a very lucrative way to generate revenue as student will be able to show their mobile device at point-of-sale to redeem these deals. In addition to these Perks, we will be offering a tool to perform Groupon-type of deals called "Pop-Up Perks".

There is still some development and product planning that will go into releasing these products across college media, but these are the opportunities TANC and CMN see as the future for generating new revenue. Details to come at the end of October. We're working with Access to adapt their commercial products for best use in the college media market. We're eager to explore these new opportunities and look forward to presenting our initial ideas and concepts later this month.

Will Interface calls continue going forward?
Yes. TANC has great interest in the Interface conference calls and wants to enable interviews with higher profile newsmakers than entertainers from MTV Networks brands. Again, logistics need to be ironed out, but the goal is to continue this program.

Will CMN still continue to support college media organizations through sponsorships?
Yes, where it makes sense. We're personally and professionally passionate about the industry we serve. Convention and event sponsorships are an excellent opportunity to match names and e-mails to faces and personalities. Our staff loves working face-to-face with advisers, but especially the student staffs dedicated to their publication's success. To best contribute to that success, we'll continue evaluating all event and convention opportunities to maximize our exposure and face time with current partners.
